About Me

My photo
My hubby Khalid and I welcomed our sweet little Maya Jayne into the world on April 8th, 2009 and couldn't be more in love with her! We also have a Sharpei/Boxer mix named Ariel...best dog ever. Khalid works as a Program Manager and I am staying at home with Maya. I love my life and couldn't imagine it any differently! :)

They Better Not Tell!!

I had my monthly OB appointment today and things went pretty well. I told Dr. Hall about my searing pains that developed over the last week. Basically last Thursday afternoon, I was in so much pain that I could not stand up straight. I was walking around like a 90 year old woman. Same thing happened Friday, so when my parents got to Edmond, my mom and I went and bought a maternity belt. I can't even get over how fast it helped. As soon as I put that sucker on, I was standing up straight again! Granted, I am still having pain, but it went from a 9 to a 6. Anyway, I told Dr. Hall about the new development and she said she thinks it is just severe round ligament pain, but she wanted to schedule an ultrasound this week for peace of mind. I am excited to see my little monkey again! (Even though there is a tiny part of me that is nervous.) What I am MOST nervous about though is that the tech will slip and reveal the sex of Baby E!! I told them when I made the appt today that I DID NOT want to know. I will also be a bugger and keep reminding them during the appointment. :)

When I checked out today, the receptionist had me schedule the rest of my appointments!! It really hit home how fast my little munchkin will be here. My parents were here for the weekend and my dad and Khalid got so much done! They painted the nursery, put the crib together and then painted one wall in our living room. We will eventually do the whole room but we only had time for one wall. It looks great! We just go stand in the nursery and grin. No mattress yet but I put a bumper against the side just to see what it looks like. And I hung two sleepy sacks (my FAVE) on the side. Obviously, we still need to do all the decorating but a lot of that will probably be done after baby gets here! I want to decorate in pink or blue accents, so we will just wait and see.

On another note.....Khalid's first day went great! He feels a bit overwhelmed of course but totally normal when you are learning something completely new. I am so excited for him. :)
