About Me

My photo
My hubby Khalid and I welcomed our sweet little Maya Jayne into the world on April 8th, 2009 and couldn't be more in love with her! We also have a Sharpei/Boxer mix named Ariel...best dog ever. Khalid works as a Program Manager and I am staying at home with Maya. I love my life and couldn't imagine it any differently! :)

Khalid got a new job!

So Khalid has been looking for the right position the whole last year and he found it! I am so excited for him. He will still be working on base. It's for a company whose main client is the air force. K will be assisting in program management. There are so many opportunities for growth so he is super excited. He needed this change. He starts on the 20th of this month and is so thrilled!

New baby news: For the first time last night, I felt Baby E shift and move. It was so crazy! The first time it happened I was like, "Whaaaa??" It felt so weird and I knew it wasn't a kick. Then I felt it about an hour later and I realized that my little monkey was just changing positions. I am just cherishing every one of these special moments. I feel so lucky and blessed. My third trimester starts tomorrow so I am kind of mixed between wanting to relish this pregnancy and wanting to meet this little person growing inside of me! The sciatic pain has ramped up a bit this week. It is manageable but the "pinched nerve" feeling is getting worse. I can move just slightly the wrong way, and it takes my breath away. However, I will accept it and deal with it because I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world!! Plus, I have Andi, my amazing physical therapist, to help me manage my pain!

I am aiming for the nursery to be done in a month. Well.....it won't be DONE done.....but at least all the basics. My parents are coming next weekend. Khalid and Dad are going to paint and put the crib together and my mom and I will assist. :) My shower is February 7th so I wanted to have all that stuff done before I add a bunch of baby gifts to the room! We won't really totally finish even by the time Baby E arrives because after we find out girl or boy, I will be adding some accent decorations in either color. We are painting a neutral color called Ponytail and the bedding is chocolate brown and cream. I thought that would be an easy palette to which I can add pink OR blue. Here is a pic:
