Emmalemmadingdong: March 2009

Well....might as well blog since I can't do a whole lot right now! Luckily I have not had very many complications so far. However, yesterday I woke up and my hands, feet and ankles were very swollen. It totally grossed me out and was such an icky feeling. But I thought it was totally normal toward the end of pregnancy. I went for my first weekly OB appt today though and told her about it. She took at look at the swelling and said she was concerned. My blood pressure isn't high (I think it was in the 130's/70's). But it was higher than it had been the whole pregnancy. Plus there was protein in my urine. (Sorry to talk about urine in my post!!) Anyway, the three of those together are symptoms for Preeclampsia. They sent me for a non-stress test at the hospital and I am on temporary (maybe) bedrest until they get the results to see if I have it. Hopefully I hear back tomorrow.

The good news is that I am dilated 1 cm and 50% effaced. Baby E is definitely getting ready! I finished my packing list last night and after today's events, Khalid will be packing tonight! :) He has also been so great this evening. He won't let me get up and is cleaning and organizing all over this house. I love that guy!!

Some people have asked if it is really hard waiting to find out the sex as the end nears. I had always thought it would be killing me by the end, but it actually has been easier. We are so excited to find out if we are having a little Maya or a little Jax! Not too much longer.....
